Wang Huning Meets with Nepal's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha

On March 25, 2024, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Wang Huning met with Nepal's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha in Beijing.

Wang Huning said that President Xi Jinping met with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda last year, and reached important consensus on developing China-Nepal relations. The two sides need to intensify political support, promote high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and enhance people-to-people connectivity. China is ready to work with Nepal to faithfully implement the important consensus reached by the two countries' leaders, advance the China-Nepal strategic partnership of cooperation featuring ever-lasting friendship for development and prosperity, and push for an even closer community of shared future between China and Nepal. The CPPCC is willing to make positive contributions to the above-mentioned endeavors.

Narayan Kaji Shrestha spoke highly of China's great achievements under the leadership of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the Communist Party of China. Narayan Kaji Shrestha said that Nepal firmly adheres to the one-China principle and expects enhanced communication and cooperation with China in various fields to better benefit the two peoples.

Hu Chunhua, Bater, and Wang Dongfeng attended the meeting.
